Post doctoral researcher position

A post-doctoral fellow is sought for a project: “Synthesis of Oxygen Functionalized Graphene Fragments for Catalytic Purposes”.ǂ The aim of the project is to develop and synthesize redox active carbon fragments that are capable to catalyze catalytic oxidative organic conversions using molecular oxygen as terminal oxidant as we have recently demonstrated performed with oxidative carbon materials.1,2

The applicant should have good organic synthetic chemistry skills. (As a proof (threshold level), major contribution at least in three publications in organic synthesis journals: ( is required. Previous experience of heterogeneous catalysis is a benefit. Theoretical chemistry-based understanding of redox processes is an advantage (to collaborate with computational chemists). Moreover, it is expected that candidate has fluent communication skills to instruct and co-supervise master and PhD students in the same project. Duration is one year (optionally until 30.6.2020).
